Financial problems part of debate at Alabama Music Hall of Fame board meeting Monday.

TUSCUMBIA — The Alabama Music Hall of Fame board voted today to move its 2013 induction banquet from March to September to allow more time for planning.

The group didn't pinpoint an exact date for the event, but board Chairman Rodney Hall said it will likely be held in mid-September.

The board declined to release names of those being considered for induction and went into executive session fort the stated purpose of discussing the good name and character of the candidates. No votes were taken on any potential inductee, board members stated.

Based on state law, a person's qualifications are not considered good name and character.

Board members also discussed ongoing issues with finances, which have been reduced from $405,000 in the operating budget last year to less that half of that amount now.
