MONTGOMERY — Parole for a Florence woman sentenced to three years in prison after she admitted to having sex with a 14-year-old boy, was denied this morning, officials said.
Lauderdale County District Attorney Chris Connolly said the Alabama Board of Pardons and Parole denied the request for parole from Dana Myhan Allen following a hearing this morning in Montgomery.
Connolly said members of Allen’s family spoke on her behalf and the district attorney’s office joined the victim’s family in opposing the early release.
“I’m pleased with the outcome. She should do the time,” Connolly said.
Allen, 38, Florence, was sentenced to three years in prison in July by Lauderdale County Circuit Judge Mike Jones.
Allen admitted June 22 that she had a sexual relationship with the boy. She pleaded guilty to second-degree rape. The plea called for a 36-month sentence and requires her to register as a sex offender.
She was arrested in January 2011.
