Police investigate early-morning robbery of residence

FLORENCE — Police are investigating the early-morning burglary and armed robbery of a residence in the 1900 block of North Wood Avenue, officials said.

Florence police detective Sgt. Cliff Billingsley said the robbery took place at 3:33 a.m.

He said reports indicate two men broke into the residence and robbed the man inside.

Billingsley said according to the victim, one intruder was armed with a pistol.

“No one was injured, they just took cash, a game system and a cellphone and then left,” Billingsley said.
