Religion and politics

I am tired of reading all these You Said It and letters to the editor articles in the TimesDaily about how President Obama, or any other politician, isn’t religious enough and doesn’t follow the Bible closely enough when making laws.

This is America. Religion and politics should be very far apart. Laws should be made based off knowledge and reason.

It’s because of these religious politicians when you want so much that in Alabama (and many other states) that two men or two women that love each other can’t get married, and I find that absolutely pathetic.

You need to stop worrying so much about your religion and remember this is a free country. You should be able to practice and do anything you want that doesn’t harm or impede in others rights because, hey, your religion may ban gay marriage, but some religions ban lobster, shrimp and other foods. So I guess we should ban those foods, too, since we are going to make laws against things that a very old religious book says should be banned, right?
