Right of free speech

I am writing to comment on an article concerning remarks attributed to Bob Grisham, a teacher at Lauderdale County High School.

If the remarks are as reported, they represent a poor choice of words, but I agree with the sentiment and strongly support Grisham, who I do not know. The statement of the obvious, which is not always politically correct, remains truth and attempts to silence it are repugnant and must be resisted.

I call on the management of the Lauderdale County School System to stand on principle in this matter and recognize the right of free expression.
