Rogers bounced back from a tough 3-2 loss to West Limestone to defeat Waterloo 2-0 and salvage a split in a tri-match Thursday evening.
The Pirates won the first two sets against West Limestone 25-22, 25-18 before losing a heartbreaker in the third set 26-28. That seemed to take its toll, as West Limestone easily won the final two sets 25-17, 15-10.
Lindsey Hamner had 33 assists for Rogers, while Maggie Green had 22 kills and Ashley Robertson had 17 kills.
Rogers had an easier time against Waterloo, winning 25-8, 25-17. Robertson led the way with 12 kills while Green had nine kills and Hamner had 20 assists.
n Lexington 3, Central 1: Lexington bounced back from a loss in the first set to win the next three sets and take a victory over Central.
The Golden Bears lost the first set 17-25 but won the final three sets 25-22, 25-23, 25-22 to take the match. Lexington (30-6) played the match without starter Sydney Corum. Addie McGee led the way with 23 kills and four blocks while Brilee Holzen had 12 kills and two blocks. Savannah Stults had 31 assists.
Central (18-15) was led by Madison Floyd with 15 kills and six aces. Abby Keener and Andi Kimbrough combined for 80 assists while Anna Rae Montgomery and Hannah Kohler combined for 33 digs.
n Covenant Christian 3, Tharptown 0: Covenant Christian had no problems against Tharptown, winning 25-8, 25-14, 25-9.
Jenna Waldrep led Covenant Christian with four kills while Elizabeth Mitchell had six aces and Rachel Farris had six assists. The Eagles improved their record to 9-6.
n Deshler 3, Mars Hill 0: Deshler remained undefeated in area play with a sweep of Mars Hill.
The Tigers rolled to a 25-13, 25-12, 25-14 victory.
Julia Burton had 11 kills, 10 digs and six blocks to spark the Tigers (31-9, 7-0 area). Keyonda Mason had 12 kills and seven blocks. Lauren Cantrell recorded 15 assists and six digs, while Sydney Malone had 12 assists and four digs. Kat Darnell chipped in with eight kills for Deshler. Christian Darnell added six digs and Anna Wilbanks five digs for the Tigers.
n Danville 2, Muscle Shoals 0: Muscle Shoals was unable to rally against Danville as the Hawks swept the Trojans 25-9, 25-23 in a tri-match.
Annabeth Alexander led the Trojans with seven kills and six digs. Destiney Smith had eight assists and Alex Hillman had nine digs for the Trojans.
n Hartselle 2, Muscle Shoals 0: Muscle Shoals won the second game, but Hartselle took the third and deciding game to defeat the Trojans 25-8, 21-25, 15-9.
Alexander led the Trojans (17-17) with six kills and seven digs. Hillman added eight digs for Muscle Shoals.
n Loretto 3, Lauderdale County 0:Makenzie Childress finished with 12 kills and 20 digs to lead Loretto to a victory over Lauderdale County.
The Mustangs (19-7) won the match 25-14, 25-15, 25-17.
Rachel Burden had seven kills, six blocks and 10 digs in the win. Sabrie Sirmones had six kills and 11 digs, while Shay Stutts had six kills, three blocks and 14 digs. BrinLee Glass recorded 27 assists and also had four digs for Loretto.
Mallory Brown recorded nine kills and five digs for Lauderdale County and Rebecca Whitt finished with 14 assists.
