Russellville company gets national award

Saint-Gobain, a company with strong ties to the Russellville area and the world’s largest manufacturer of building products, has been awarded the ENERGY STAR Sustained Excellence Award by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The company has won the award three consecutive years.

The award recognizes Saint-Gobain’s leadership in energy management and reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.

Saint-Gobain employs more than 150 people in Alabama, including more than 45 people at its Russellville plant. Through energy-efficiency technologies and techniques, the plant achieved a 10.33 percent reduction in energy on a per-unit basis.
