LAWRENCEBURG, TENN. — Police say a registered sex offender is back in jail accused of improperly touching a young girl.

Douglas Edwin McNabb, 53, 521 Fourth St., Lawrenceburg, Tenn., is charged with aggravated sexual battery, police said today.

Authorities said the incidents happened during the last few weeks.

Lawrenceburg police detective Capt. Don Laws said McNabb is a registered sex offender from Maury County.

He said McNabb was convicted of aggravated rape of a child in 1992. He said he has been registered in Lawrence County for the last several years.

McNabb is being held in the Lawrence County Jail on bail of $100,000.

He is scheduled for a court appearance on March 7.
