One person is in jail and the search is continuing for another suspect from an early morning armed robbery Wednesday.
Micah Brown, 29, Ridgecrest Apartments, Russellville, is charged with second-degree robbery, said Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett.
Brown is accused of being a part of a robbery that occurred between 4-4:30 a.m. Wednesday outside a convenience store on U.S. 43.
Russellville police investigator Lt. Scotty Lowery said the reported victim, a 21-year-old man who was staying at Greenwood Inn in Russellville, left his room and walked to a nearby convenience store where he was robbed.
"(The man) said when he started back (to the motel), two men came up and attacked him," Lowery said.
Reports indicate the robbbers beat the man with their fists and took a cellphone and $40.
Police said the man wasn't seriously injured.
"He was able to positively identify one of them as Micah Brown," Lowery said.
Lowery said Brown was found a short time later at his residence where he was taken into custody and charged.
Lowery said none of the items reported taken in the robbery have been recovered.
"At this time, we have not been able to determine who is the second suspect," Lowery said. "Hopefully, someone knows something about this and can come forward with information we need."
Brown is being held in Russellville City Jail without bail. Franklin County District Attorney Joey Rushing said Brown had been out of jail on bond for a 2011 robbery.
Reports indicate he is accused of robbing someone while they were attempting to pay their utility bill.
Rushing said his office filed a motion in district court Wednesday to revoke Brown's bond because of the new arrest.
Lowery said anyone with any information on the robbery is asked to call 256-332-2230 or Shoals CrimeStoppers at 256-386-8685.
