Teen dies in crash

LORETTO, TENN. -- Tennessee Highway Patrol officials are working a two-car crash tonight that has left one teenager dead and another critically injured, officials said.

Authorities would not release any names of the people involved in the accident, but officials did said the one fatality is believed to be that of a female student at Loretto High School. The other girl who was injured was taken to Vanderbilt Hospital, according to friends of the family.

The accident happened just after 6 p.m. on the Old Florence-Pulaski Road, which is just north of Loretto.

Troopers said a car with the two girls collided with a large truck.
