The members of Congress seem to have lost the purpose of the job for which they ran. They have forgotten they were elected as U.S. senators and representatives, and their jobs are to pass rules, regulations and laws to promote, protect and serve the United States and the citizens thereof. They seem to think their job is to serve and promote the political party of their choosing. This is not their job.
The two-party system is good for the democratic process, but the members of Congress must put the interest of the country and its citizens first and political affiliation second.
