Truck rams into restaurant; one injured

A white pickup crashed into Sparky's Drive-In on Old Lee Highway just before 8 a.m. today.

TUSCUMBIA — One person was injured this morning when a truck left the road and slammed into Sparky’s Drive-in restaurant on Old Lee Highway, police said.

The accident happened just before 8 a.m.

Sparky's is expected to be closed today.

Emergency personnel said one person was entrapped inside the vehicle and was removed by members of the Tuscumbia Fire Department.

Authorities said one person was taken to Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield to be treated for injuries. The severity of those injuries were not immediately known.

The accident is under investigation by the Tuscumbia police.
