FLORENCE — The University of North Alabama has added additional security officers for the spring semester, which began this week.
UNA Police Chief Bob Pastula said there are 12 more reserve police officers on campus now than at the beginning of the fall semester.
Reserve police officers are volunteer officers who are trained by the UNA Police Department.
Pastula said reserve officers are not required to be certified by the state but are trained to carry weapons.
