Perhaps if we look at gun violence as one nurse, Carolyn McCarthy, a congressional representative from the 4th District in New York who lost her husband to gun violence suggested — as a public health issue — we could come to some agreement about banning weapons that are not needed to protect yourself or your family or to use for hunting.
Perhaps, like was done with seat belts or smoking, we can at least do something to reduce this tremendous public health problem.
This is about public safety and public health. Can we really not come together to do something about this?
