LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. — Officials said a Lawrence County, Tennessee, teenager has pleaded guilty in the 2017 shooting death of a 16-year-old Lawrenceburg girl.

Police said Kyle Daniel Welcher, 18, has entered an open guilty plea to reckless homicide, and three counts of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.

A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for Sept. 21.

He faces a penalty of two to four years in prison on the charge of reckless homicide, and a maximum fine of $5,000.

Reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon is punishable by one to three years in prison and fines up to $3,000.

Welcher was arrested on Dec. 12, 2017, in connection with the shooting death of Holley Ann Cullum, a student at Lawrence County High School.
