CMA's Musician of the Year

Mac McAnally accepts the award for Musician of the Year tonight at the 47th annual CMA Awards at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. It's his sixth consecutive award for Musician of the Year.

NASHVILLE -- Country Music Association members continue to show their love for Mac McAnally.

The singer/songwriter who splits his time between Music City and Sheffield, was honored tonight with his sixth consecutive CMA Award for Musician of the Year.

Tonight’s award gave McAnally, a solo artist and rhythm guitarist in Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band, his sixth consecutive Musician off the Year award.

“I’m just proud to be one of the many who live on either side of the stage and in the fine print of CD covers,” McAnally told the TimesDaily. “It’s what I’ve wanted to do as long as I (can) remember. I’m so grateful.

“I’m happy and honored and feel guilty enough to go home and practice for a week.”
