FLORENCE — Police Chief Ron Tyler said action he took about a month ago to remove several  benches from the south end of Court Street seems to have had the desired result, as fewer complaints have been received from that end of downtown.

If the city would do more to help the homeless then they wouldn't rely on the pavilions for housing. Allow for more areas to give out food and not take everything away. I know that we don't want tents and boxes and stuff to be everywhere, but at least allow for an area for them to stay in that's close to town. If Room in the Inn had more help from the city and not be hindered I'm sure they'd come up with more to help the homeless.
