TUSCUMBIA — The Best Western Plus Hotel and Suites, Colbert County's newest property, has won the M.K. Guertin Award, the company's highest honor, after just three years in operation.
The award is based on an evaluation period from June 1, 2019, to May 31, 2020.Â
The award recognizes top North American hotels that exemplify the best performance across areas such as quality assurance, customer service, guest satisfaction and commitment to the brand.
The award was presented last week to officials and staff of the Love's Hospitality-owned property.
General Manager Amanda Beavers called the award "a very prestigious honor for our property."
She said strict criteria was met to achieve the top level award, including an outstanding rating in the top 5% on the most recent assessment.
The award is named after Best Western founder M.K. Guertin. It recognizes properties that best demonstrate a foundational commitment to providing superior customer care.
The property will be recognized during Best Western's virtual convention the week of Oct. 18.Â
