Betty Glenn of Russellville is prepared to be the first patient moved from Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital to the new North Alabama Medical Center. 

FLORENCE — Betty Glenn of Russellville will be the first patient moved from Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital to the new North Alabama Medical Center this morning.

Glenn is ready and “anxious” for the ambulance ride to the new facility on Veterans Drive and Helton Drive.

The first convoy of patients and emergency personnel is preparing to leave ECM.

Hospital officials said there are 140 patients that will be transported to the new facility today as this is the last day of operation for ECM.
