Decatur Avenue project

Florence City Council will meet today to discuss the project at Decatur Avenue. [FILE/TIMESDAILY]

FLORENCE — The City Council meets at noon today to discuss a potential contract for work on Darby Drive and Decatur Avenue.

The meeting is in the City Hall auditorium on the South Pine Street side of the building. The meeting is open to the public.

Structural issues involving the box culvert there have caused Decatur Avenue near its intersection with Darby Drive to be closed since Feb. 15.

The culvert is part of several hundred feet of a 7-by-7-foot box culvert that extends under the Florence Plaza Shopping Center and Florence Boulevard.
